Yay! It's here!

Our Ikea delivery arrived today!! Oh joy!! Finally I can start with...well...everything! The lovely delivery men set up the couch for us and took all the boxes away! (even the boxes we've had lying around in the attic for the past two years) Yay! To tell you the truth...I haven't seen the couch yet. In real life that is (My husband sent a photo) And probably won't be able to for another week or so...but that's another story. It involves baby and doctors and skinny little tummies.

The moodboard was a quick throw together I'm sorry! We also have wooden furniture in the living room (eg. an old wooden chest that I stole from my parents) but the pics I found on the Internet just didn't do it justice. So we're stuck with a moodboard of Ikea items, I'm afraid. After doing these two moodboards I realized just how much Ikea furniture we actually have. ha! And we always said we would never be one of those families whose house looks like an ikea show room...easier said than done when you're not a billionaire.

Nursery Moodboard

It's here! I found a Moodboard app that helped do the trick. But it made my lame-o iPad crash every time I tried exporting it so had to take a screenshot instead. So here it is, little Miss Wimm's nursery!

33 weeks + some empty decorating promises?

So I was planning to put up a nursery mood board but not sure anymore if I'll get the time before the nursery is actually finished AND I'm kinda freaking out that it might not be a girl! Ha! Probably stupid.. But I don't really want to embarrass myself when a boy pops his little head out and I have a cute baby girls room waiting for him at home. I don't have to wait long.. Only til Tuesday! I will be getting a 3D scan so we should be able to have a clear view and put my worries to rest. Not that a boy would be bad but I think the pretty pink clothes I've got will feel very sad and lonely having to be packed away.

So probably no nursery mood board. Unless I can squeeze it in between my 3D scan on Tuesday and decorating on the weekend. Which now that I think about it, may be a huge doable possibility. But did I tell you? Our ikea delivery is arriving on thursday! My fingers are tingling just writing about it. The main item which I am so over the moon about is our sofa. We will finally have a sofa! No one can really understand my joy over this unless they themselves have also never owned a sofa. Our living room at the moment consists of a very uncomfortable day bed and one very springy uncomfortable chair. We went with Karlstad in dark grey.

When I first saw it, I wasn't that into it but then I saw it over at Young House Love and read about how much they love it. So I was taken! But with the new sofa coming it got me thinking. Our living room screams boring and bland. And I'm afraid the sofa will probably just accentuate that fact. So next week I will be putting together my next project: Living Room Makeover Mood Board! Just so you get the idea, the colours at the moment are navy, white and beige with a couple of unnoticeable pops of red. I'll be keeping the navy as that is our feature wall but the rest has seen better days. So until next week where I'll be back with my mood boards and some gender news. Hopefully...

Freebie: Printable Alphabet Flash Cards

After seeing so many cool ideas for nursery or playroom decoration using alphabet cards, I thought it would be cool to hunt some down. (However in the meantime I have so many other ideas for the nursery that I don't think the cards will fit in such a small room) And obviously they are just as useful when the babies grow up and start learning their letters!

Firstly there's THIS fun set from The Handmade Home.

And today I stumbled across THIS set from Mr Printables.com! Love it! This is exactly what I wanted. Simple and modern. They have tons of fun free stuff on Mr Printables.com like these animal flashcards or these earth vocabulary cards or these number flashcards.

Since it's a rainy Saturday, I think I'll print these out on some cardstock and spend the afternoon on the couch with my scissors! Have a Happy Weekend!

Chinese Cabbage = Little Miss Wimm

It's a new week again. It literally feels like it was only yesterday that I posted about Bub being the size of a cauliflower! Oh how the time flies! It's like what they say, blink and might just miss them growing up! Except in this case I would be quite glad to miss the next few months of big bellies and heat and skip right along to a little munchkin face in my arms... but enough dreaming for one day. Bubby is now as big as a Chinese cabbage... How splendid! So if she was born today I would be holding a Chinese cabbage.

Freebie - I Knew You PDF

I got this idea from another blogger who had done pretty much the same thing (we could say that I copied her). However I didn't like her colours. I love that verse, so I decided to do one myself using basically the same colour scheme as the baby quilt I just made. I printed mine out the size of an A5 (50%) and stuck it in a white Ikea frame. You can download the (better quality) PDF version here.

Elephant Soft Toy Tutorial

Hello Monday!! Schön, dass du wieder da bist!

It's been rather warm here the last few days... A sizzling 38 degrees! but probably 40 degrees in our oven of a roof-top-house. Not fun! Went to the supermarket today to stock up the old fridge. But the vegetable and fruit sections were all looking a bit sad to say the least. The heat is not agreeing with them. So I passed up on the warm smooshy kiwifruit and tomatoes and went with sensible summer food like nachos and guacemole! Yum!

I came across this cute elephant tutorial the other day from Riley Blake Designs. It's pretty easy and would make a great newborn gift! I think I'll make another or a couple more...just to have on hand for those last minute gifts... or to fill Bubby's toy basket which is yet to come into existence.
